Eat This…Don’t Get Laid

Break out the lotion, it's going to be a lonely night.

Last night, my husband suggested we go out for a romantic dinner.  He’s a vegetarian married to an omnivore, so Indian food satisfies us both.  I got dolled up, Craig took off his ripped jeans in favor of clean ones, he even opened the car and restaurant door for me.  I had been away all weekend and we felt like celebrating.  (I’ll explain why we’re excited in the next post!)

Kamal Palace is in Long Beach, and they rock.  We had our favorites of vegetable korma (Craig), lamb korma (me), rice, saag paneer which is spinach with Indian cheese, curried cauliflower, wine, beer – it was a feast!

My husband was probably hoping this would help him get some last night.  Problem being, Indian food is carb and dairy HEAVY.  When we finished this big meal, was there an increased desire for sex?   Craig watched a movie (with three quick trips to the bathroom), while I kept the dogs awake with my snoring.  This my friends, is what we lovingly refer to as the very unsexy “food coma.”  We came home and nobody got laid.

This morning my husband said (while rubbing his grumbling belly), “Next time, we’re going for sushi.”

    Great post.
My hubby and I just had post conference nachos here at the hotel. He’s deep in a food coma, and I’ve made multiple trips to the bathroom.
Ah, the perils of travel food…even if it’s consumed in the rotating bar at the Westin!

I always eat too much when we go out for Sushi as well. In fact, I’m not sure what food we could go out for that wouldn’t put us in a food coma : )

  4. as much as i love me a good saag paneer, i think the only place my man & i could avoid that dreaded food coma would be a salad bar!! thanks for posting!
