It’s Creamy, It’s Green, and It’s Sexy: Guacamole

You know you’ve got a Cook This…Get Laid recipe when things get messy.

Have you tried to handle an avocado gracefully?  Impossible, but for all the right reasons when trying to connect with your beloved.  If it’s overly ripe, green ooze spews out of the shell when you crack one open.  Getting the avocado meat out of its natural container almost always results in green goodness on your hands.  And they’re not particularly forgiving when trying to put a bite in your mouth.  My husband made me guacamole every few days when we first started dating (babe, what happened?), and we’d sit over a bowl talking, laughing, eating, making a mess with trajectory guac landing everywhere.  One bite, and a blotch of green sticks to your cheek, gets all over your hands, sometimes landing in your lap.  You simply have to let your guard down when eating this creamy, green, healthy snack!

Men, make this for her.  If it takes you more then 10 minutes, you’re being too much of a perfectionist and may need to seek out therapy.  And women, get your man to make this for you.  Just forward him this recipe, which is written below AND if he doesn’t like to read, I’ve also got it on YouTube.  And make sure you SUBSCRIBE on my YouTube Channel, so you can see every new recipe.

A LITTLE EXTRA COACHING:  I add garlic, spice and onion to my guac.  But that doesn’t mean she will love it.  There’s the perfect way around this: ASK HER.  This is a key element to Cook This…Get Laid, sure there’s healthy recipes.  But they don’t mean squat unless you engage her in your cooking escapades.  Taking a moment to ask her what she prefers – and listening to her answers – will gain you points in more ways than you know.  Garlic might make her gassy (not sexy), or she’s sensitive to chiles and turn bright red (truly unsexy), or onions might double her over with stomach pain (horribly unsexy).  It’s an easy solution, just ask her the following, “Baby, do you like guacamole with onion, garlic and heat?”

Cook This…Get Laid Guacamole

  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 dashes hot sauce or freshly chopped Serrano chiles (my husband prefers Tabasco)
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon
  • 1/4 cup of freshly chopped white onion

Take four avocados, cut them in half, and remove the pit.  Scoop out that delicious avocado meat and place it in a bowl.  Add two cloves of chopped garlic, then a half teaspoon of kosher salt.  A few dashes of hot sauce will do (or use a fresh Serrano pepper, it’s up to you), or more if you can take the heat.

I use fresh lemon instead of lime.  I’ve tried both, and the acid from the lemon is just what I prefer.  If you like lime, by all means – use it!  Then add the onion and mix well.
