I usually write for men, by helping them find ways to prepare healthy meals for their most beloved woman.  But today’s post is for the ladies, and it’s not entirely about food either.  Today’s post gets right to the main course concerning Father’s Day, or any day for that matter.  So be a good wife, girlfriend, baby mama this Father’s Day and give your man some booty. 

But enjoy it.  I mean, REALLY get off.

Ladies, who says you’re not allowed to enjoy sex?  Especially when it’s with him.  Men are simple creatures, so very easy to please.  And if your guy is like my husband, then all he wants is his woman to make him feel seven-feet-tall, have his favorite meal hot and ready, to whack Willy Wonka into wonderland, then fall asleep.  But there’s another part of this (at least from my experience), he truly wants you to get off too.  Consider that as his dessert. In fact, forego dessert altogether!

But still make him something delicious.  I’ve put together a menu that will keep “things” going.  Because I write about healthy eats, the last thing you want is to have him conked out on the couch with a full belly, or stop in the middle of the rumpy pumpy because he has a food-induced cramp.

I’m sure your guy has a favorite meal or food.  Whatever you choose as your show of appreciation, make sure you prepare something that’s really going to show your appreciation before you put on a show in the bedroom.  This menu will give him a truly happy Father’s Day.

A Truly Happy Father’s Day Meal

Start with guacamole.
Lucky for you, I have a video that shows you how to make the creamiest and most delicious batch ever.  I also just read a fun post on YumSugar.com about the sexiness of avocados, and here’s what they have to say, “This fruit is also considered a traditional remedy for erectile dysfunction — holy guacamole. The avocado is beneficial for body parts above the belt as well. It is high in omega-3 fatty acids, known to promote heart health.”  I’m not sayin’ he’s got problems down there, I’m just suggesting that you eat this very sensual food and help your skin, heart and overall health.

Roasted Salmon with Herbs and Wilted Greens
We all know what those good fats can do, my doctor told me years ago that they make your skin glow and decrease the risk of heart disease.  And then there’s this very smartypants doctor that I love named, Yvonne K. Fulbright, PhD, and she can break down the sexual benefits down far better than I can, “The omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA found in fish help to raise dopamine levels in the brain that trigger arousal.”

Roasted Salmon with Fresh Herbs Recipe

  • 2 pieces of salmon fillet with or without skin (I like 5-6 ounce pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh scallions
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (you can use dried herbs, but it’s not as good!)

Preheat oven to 425°F.  Place the salmon in a bowl, and drizzle with olive oil.  Rub with your hands and season with salt and pepper.  Line a baking sheet with foil, and roast skin side down for approximately 10 minutes for medium, 5 minutes longer if he likes it well cooked. Remove from baking sheet, drizzle salmon with oil and sprinkle generously with herbs.

Wilted Greens Recipe
MSN Health says it all: magnesium creates better blood flow to the genitals, and better arousal is the result.  Inspired by Mario Batali on Epicurious.com.

  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 anchovy fillets (extra Omegas for the two of you)
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 head escarole, kale or 1 head or bunch another leafy green cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide ribbons, washed and spun dry
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon

Heat a sauté pan over medium-high heat until hot.  Add the olive oil, then the anchovies (if you get a little of the anchovy oil in there, that’s okay).  The anchovy will start to separate a bit, and almost look like bits of olives.  When it looks completely liquified, add the garlic and cook ONLY 30 seconds. Lower the heat a to medium, add the greens and cook, stirring constantly, until wilted, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, remove from the pan and  squeeze the lemon juice just over the greens just before you serve it.

Dessert – Fresh Fruit
I know I said to forego dessert, but this time of year brings some of the most delicious fruit that cannot be missed.  If the food is loaded with vitamin C, get on it.  The same aforementioned MSN article states that, “Foods rich in vitamin C report better moods and have more sex. It helps boost blood flow, meaning that both sexes can get friskier, faster.”  And guess what?  Peaches are in season right now, so they are at their sweetest and juiciest.  You really don’t need to do much, but I recommend that you: pit them, create a slow boil mixture of 1 tablespoon of butter, a sprinkle of brown sugar and vanilla extract (fresh vanilla pods are better).  Then brush the peaches with the syrup as they grill four minutes on each side.

  1. Or if fresh fruit for pudding just doesn’t do it for you and your partner try this hideously simple chocolate mousse. Use 70% dark chocolate to give it those all important aphrodisiac properties (even if the link hasn’t quite been proven yet!)…
    Serves 2-3 people.
    1) Melt 100g 70% dark chocolate (first broken into chunks) in a heatproof bowl over a pan of barely simmering water. Just make sure that the bowl doesn’t actually touch the water.
    2) When the chocolate has completely melted remove the bowl from the heat and slowly add 50ml boiling water and a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, stirring as you add. If you don’t add it slowly the chocolate will potentially “split”.
    3) Whip 70ml whipping or double cream, until it starts to thicken just slightly, ie so that you can still pour it.
    4) Pour the cream into the chocolate mixture and gently stir until the chocolate is fully mixed with the cream.
    5) Pour the mixture into small pots, ramekins or espresso cups, then leave to cool (not in the fridge) for at least 45 minutes before serving.

    If you’ve got any remaining cream you could whip this into soft peaks and add it to the top of the pots just before serving.

      This sounds FABULOUS! But my blog is about healthy options. So while your recipe has the perfect start, the 70 ml of double cream takes it right out of Cook This…Get Laid territory! Thanks for posting though.
