It’s Her Birthday, What Do I Get Her?

My new favorite possession and gift from my husband: Wonder Woman socks!

My new favorite possession and gift from my husband: Wonder Woman socks!

Men, this tip is just for you. When it’s your lady’s birthday you have to pull out all the stops. It can’t feel just like any other day. If it’s within your budget, take her out to lunch or dinner. Let her know in advance if it is casual or fine dining. Find out for fucking sure if she likes the place you choose. (You’re not gonna take a vegetarian to Korean barbeque.)

Ask her what she wants, then order for her. If your wallet is a little thin, then make her something delicious and healthy in your own kitchen. But know what her favorite foods are. If you’re unsure on what to get her, ask her friends or family. Clean the house. Look on her Pinterest page or Amazon Wish List to get an idea of what she’s been looking for. Wrap it, or ask/pay someone to do it for you. We leave hints all over the fucking place. Just make the day special.

And I know what you’re thinking. Why doesn’t she tell me what she wants? Just grow some balls and surprise her. We like it.

And why do you want to know this? Because it’ll workout in your favor. She’ll reward you for it.

My husband got me a ton of gifts. Some pricey, some not. But my favorite was in the above photo. He took me for lunch overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I couldn’t be happier.

  1. OK, Mona, I want these socks. Do not EVER come near me wearing them, because I’m sure some unknown person will knock you over the head and steal them from you. ;-) P.S. When it comes to fragrances, I do not like to be surprised. Every scent smells different on everyone (and changes during the day), so if I’m asked about what I want, I will specify a certain perfume. Otherwise, yeah…surprise me! Who knows what surprise you may get in return!

Ummmm, I probably won’t be stealing your socks, but I HAVE noticed how popular they are!

I will just add this – do NOT get your woman potholders as a gift, no matter what pretty design they have on them. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

My husband is AWESOME but the world’s worst gift giver. If he DOES give me something (often, anniversaries and birthdays go by with nothing tangible, he’s just not a celebrator!), it’s always kind of wrong. But the good outweighs the bad and I’m going to keep him. :) He would NEVER get me those socks. Though I would love them. :)

  4. Nice socks you got there! And thanks for sharing those great tips on how to make a day special for a woman.

Hmmm, my hubby bought my 2 glass bowls for my birthday one year. I had dropped so many hints but no I get bowls!! Lol!
